Cancellation of Classes

If the studio must cancel classes due to weather or events beyond our control such as power outages, students may take another scheduled class appropriate for their age and experience level. No refunds for lessons missed due to these reasons will be given. If there are more than 3 weather cancellations for your class, a separate makeup class will be scheduled.

If Greenland Central School closes due to snow, daytime classes (classes held before 2pm) are automatically cancelled. However, this does NOT mean that afternoon classes will be cancelled. The decision will be made by 2pm. You will no longer be notified via email if classes are cancelled. You may check our News and NoticesFacebook page, or you may call the studio ONE HOUR prior to your scheduled class to check the voicemail message as well.

*Saturday class decisions will be made by 8am.

The studio reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher if the regularly scheduled teacher is ill or otherwise unable to teach classes. If a teacher is ill and the studio cannot arrange a substitute, students may take another scheduled class appropriate for their age and experience level.


Class Attendance and Lateness

The studio reserves the right to have students who come late to class, sit out the class. Repeated lateness may result in termination of lessons. A minimum attendance level will be required. If a student misses more than 4 classes without written notices, the studio reserves the right to terminate lessons. Students missing more than 4 classes after January will not be allowed to participate in the year-end dance recital, festivals, or competitions. Dance Team members may not miss more than 3 classes. Dancers with perfect attendance – zero absences – will receive a Perfect Attendance Award at the recital.

Parent/Guardian’s Responsibility to be Aware of Dates and Events

It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian or the adult student to be aware of all studio activities such as picture days, recitals, extra classes, and dates the studio is open or closed. The studio will post all such notices as well as emailing or sending them home with the students. It is the parent/guardian’s responsibility to regularly check postings to ensure they are informed. It is the parent/guardian’s responsibility to inform the studio of any address, email, or telephone number changes.


The studio is not responsible for providing before or after class care for students. No children under the age of 14 are to be left unsupervised on the premises when not in class.

Dress Code

Required dancewear and dance shoes must be worn to all classes. Failure to wear required dancewear to class could result in students being asked to sit out the class. Repeated failure to wear required dancewear could result in termination of lessons. Students must carry dance shoes to and from class; wearing dance shoes outside is not good for the shoes or the studio floor. Please check tap shoes for loose screws. Please WRITE YOUR NAME IN ALL YOUR DANCE SHOES. There is a used-shoe exchange bin in the studio – please feel free to take or leave a pair.

Photo Release

The studio reserves the right to take and use photographs of the students to use in brochures, websites, posters, advertisements, and other promotional materials the school creates.


No one is allowed to stay in the classroom as it distracts the students. You are welcome to stay in the waiting room, which has closed-circuit television to observe the class. There will be 2 “Bring-a-Friend Days” (one in the fall and one in the spring) during which each student may bring a friend to class, free of charge.


Parents, legal guardians of minor students, and adult students waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on studio property resulting from normal dance activity or any other activity conducted by the students before, during, or after class time. Dance Innovations Dance Center LLC does not carry health insurance for the students.

Food and Drink

DIDC is a NUT-free studio. If you consume nut-filled snacks on the way to dance, please wash hands before coming into class for the safety of our dancers. Water ONLY is allowed in the studio. There is a water cooler in the lobby. Please feel free to bring water bottles to class. There is absolutely NO GUM allowed in the studio. And of course, there is no smoking allowed in the studio.


There will be an annual on-stage production in June. More information will be given in your monthly dance notices. Please make every effort to attend each dance class in order to be properly prepared for the recital. Students are not required to be in the recital, however, it is a good experience for the dancers, giving them confidence and a sense of completion.

Payment of Fees

Payment of Fees

Tuition must be paid by automatic bank account debit or automatic credit card payment. First payment will be debited or charged with registration fee at time of registration. Subsequent tuition payments will be debited from your bank account or charged to your credit card on the 25th day of each month from September-May. Credit card or bank debit payments are not accepted for in-person payment on a monthly basis. Payment must be made by a pre-authorized automatic monthly payment. Please note: split payments must be arranged outside of the studio.  All charges will appear on your bank statement or credit card statement as being from Dance Innovations Dance Center.

Insufficient Funds/NSF Fees: Any returned-check/bank draft charge will be subject to a fee of $30.00.

Late Fees: There is no late fee assessed until after the 10th of the following month. Any account unpaid after the tenth of the month will have late charges assessed for 10% of the total amount due (minimum $10 late fee). Any student with an overdue balance of more than 45 days will not be allowed into class until payment in full is received.

Decline Fees: Any declined recurring credit card charge will be subject to a fee of $10.00.

Registration: A non-refundable fee of $35 per student (with a cap of $60 per family) is required yearly at time of registration. Please Note: Registrations submitted electronically imply consent to all studio policies and procedures.

Costume Fee: A costume deposit of $50.00 per class will be charged to your account on November 1st. Costume balances will be charged to your account on December 10th.

  • Full-Season Dance Classes run September through June.
  • Monthly tuition payments are based on an average of 3.6 classes per month. (Some months there may be five classes, but in some months there may only be two – due to holidays and school vacations, etc.)
  • The first payment is due at time of registration. The remaining nine tuition payments are auto-billed on the 25th of each month September through May.

Withdrawal and Refunds

One month notice from the first of the month is required to discontinue any classes. Withdrawal must be done in person at the studio and will not be accepted over the phone. Withdrawal must be done within the first 7 days of a month. No withdrawals will be accepted after April 1st. To withdraw from classes a parent or adult student must complete and sign a withdrawal form provided by the studio. All automatic bank debiting or credit card charges will stop after the one-month notice period. Dance Innovations Dance Center reserves the right to terminate lessons to any student without notice.
